ARTHROSCOPY / SPORTS MEDICINE
Treating with Minimal Joint Exposure...

The word arthroscopy comes from two Greek words, "arthro" (joint) and "skopein" (to look). The term literally means "to look within the joint."

Arthroscopy is a minimally invasive surgical procedure that has transformed orthopedic medicine. It involves the use of a small camera, or arthroscope, inserted through tiny incisions to diagnose and treat joint issues. This advanced technique allows orthopedic surgeons to access and repair damaged joints with pinpoint accuracy, reducing the need for large incisions and lengthy recoveries. Arthroscopy is commonly employed for conditions like torn ligaments, damaged cartilage, and joint inflammation. The benefits include shorter hospital stays, decreased pain, and faster recovery times, ultimately improving patients' quality of life. This innovative approach has become a cornerstone of orthopedic care, offering patients a path to enhanced mobility and reduced discomfort.

VISION CARE

An intraocular lens is implanted in the eye once your natural lens which has turned opaque due to the removal of cataract, to restore your vision to optimal. With advances in available technology for cataract surgery, the kind of intraocular lenses, called IOLs, have also undergone a revolutionary change. The first IOL that was implanted in the human eye, by Sir Harold Ridley in 1949, was made of acrylic called Perspex. Intraocular lenses were approved as “safe and effective” in the USA by the Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) only in 1981. From then to now, the kinds of lenses that are available for implantation has been nothing short of a revolution for cataracts treatment.

With a vision to expand our expertise in other fields of medicine and patient care, in January 2021, we expanded our product range and services in the field of Ophthalmology and IOL lenses. With our expanded service team, we took up the distribution of Johnson& Johnson IOL lenses for the region of Delhi & NCR and parts of Haryana.

Xiros

The use of synthetic ligaments in ligament reconstruction has become an area of interest and research in orthopedic surgery. With a rising interest of people in sporting activities, injuries and re-injuries have become a problem-surgeons have to address. Synthetic ligaments, also known as ligament augmentation devices, are artificial structures designed to replace or reinforce damaged or torn ligaments in the body. They can be used in various ligament reconstruction procedures, such as in the knee (ACL or anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction) or other joints, and offer several potential advantages.

Synthetic ligaments are readily available and can be manufactured with strict quality control measures, ensuring sterility and consistent quality. This eliminates the need for harvesting ligaments from the patient's own body (autograft) or obtaining them from a donor (allograft). Synthetic ligaments can offer predictable biomechanical properties, ensuring that the reconstructed ligament has the desired strength and stability.

New Clip Technics

Osteotomies around the knee are surgical procedures that involve the cutting and reshaping of bone to alter the alignment and distribution of forces within the knee joint. These procedures are primarily used to treat knee osteoarthritis (OA) and, in some cases, can also benefit patients with multiligament injuries. Here's how osteotomies can help patients with these conditions:

NewClip Technics is a medical technology company that specializes in innovative solutions for various surgical procedures, including osteotomies. Osteotomies, as mentioned earlier, involve the surgical cutting and reshaping of bones to correct deformities, improve alignment, and treat various orthopedic conditions. Its low profile plates with poly axial screws help surgeons to treat patients with lower profile yet stronger plates to treat patients treat unique situations like multi ligament injuries and root repairs.

Shoulder Replacement

Shoulder arthroplasty has evolved into a highly successful solution for patients suffering from end-stage shoulder joint disorders. It is typically indicated when conservative or surgical treatments such as physiotherapy, medications, or injections or even Rotator cuff repair fail to relieve pain and restore function.

Shoulder replacement is recommended in patients with:

  • Primary Osteoarthritis – Degenerative wear of the glenohumeral joint leading to pain and stiffness
  • Rotator Cuff Tear Arthropathy – Combined rotator cuff deficiency with arthritis
  • Inflammatory Arthritis (e.g., Rheumatoid Arthritis)
  • Avascular Necrosis of the Humeral Head
  • Complex Proximal Humerus Fractures
  • Failed Previous Shoulder Surgeries or Replacements

Adlife Enterprises offers the Comprehensive® Shoulder System from Zimmer Biomet, a globally recognized platform for both anatomic and reverse shoulder arthroplasty. One of the most compelling advantages of the Comprehensive system lies in its strong registry-backed performance. The Comprehensive Reverse Shoulder System has achieved one of the lowest 7-year revision rates among reverse shoulder prostheses

Hyalofast

Articular cartilage is a connective tissue which covers the end of bones in joints. It provides a lubrication, helps in load distribution. It is Composed mainly of water (80% ), collagen (primarily type II), and proteoglycans, creating a viscous, elastic structure.

Cartilage injuries are the biggest enigma in Orthopaedic surgeries. Because it lacks a direct blood supply, articular cartilage has a very limited capacity for self-repair and regeneration. Osteochondral defects are injuries affecting both the articular cartilage and the underlying (subchondral) bone within a joint, most commonly the knee or ankle. These lesions, often caused by acute trauma or repetitive stress, can range from cracks to detached fragments, resulting in pain, instability, and joint locking. Usual solutions of treating OCDs have been Microfracture, Osteochondral Autograft Transfer System, autologous chondrocyte implantation. Most of these stages are traumatic and two stage procedures which delay results or provide compromised results. Adlife Enterprises brings Hyalofast from Anika to surgeons to treat this complex problem.

HYALOFAST® is composed of a single 3D fibrous layer of HYAFF®, a benzyl ester of hyaluronic acid (HA), which is a natural component of the extracellular matrix and a major component of human cartilage. Once implanted, its non-woven 3D structure supports MSC adhesion and 3D organization, facilitating the recovery of the normal tissue anatomy. As the HYAFF fibres degrade, HA is released into the lesion creating a micro-environment favorable to regeneration.

INTEGRITY

Patches in tendon repair were developed to address the limitations of conventional repairs, especially in cases of large or poor-quality tears. Traditional suturing techniques often fail due to high tension at the repair site, compromised tissue quality, or inadequate biological healing. Patches act as biological or synthetic scaffolds, providing mechanical reinforcement while promoting tissue regeneration. They help distribute load more evenly, reduce re-tear rates, and enhance healing by supporting cell infiltration and vascularization. In challenging cases such as massive rotator cuff tears, patches have become an important adjunct, improving structural integrity and overall clinical outcomes.

The Integrity™ Patch from Anika represents a new generation in tendon augmentation, designed to overcome the limitations of traditional animal-derived (xenograft) and synthetic patches. Made from a highly purified, resorbable hyaluronic acid-based scaffold- HYAFF, it promotes rapid cellular ingrowth and natural tissue remodeling. Its unique porous structure provides optimal mechanical strength while maintaining flexibility for better load sharing at the repair site. With consistent quality, no concerns of disease transmission or long-term synthetic residue, and excellent handling characteristics, the Integrity™ Patch offers a reliable solution to enhance healing in complex tendon repairs such as rotator cuff tears and TA tears.
